Today after work we went to Kiwanis Park in Riverside. It’s a cute Park with lots to do: two baseball fields, picnic area, corn holes, horseshoes, canoe launch (to Salt Creek–stay tuned for more info), volleyball and basketball courts and the best of all a small, short disc golf course. And it’s only 15 minutes from work! Perfect! After playing 7 holes, Bryce won with excellent precision, we switched to a new hobby: unicycling.
While Anya tried the “hold onto the fence” approach, Bryce cemented the starting off the curb approach from one of the disc tees. Not sure if the time lapse caught any of our successes, but great fun was had by all… And (almost) no injuries!
Here is our attempt at time-lapse photography demonstrating what learning to unicycle looks like in the early stages, with sunset fast approaching and a little league game in the background:
After that we discovered a cute center of Riverside with amazing empanadas at Empanadus! It is sooooo deliciously worth the visit. We bought out the last of their vegan ones, so go back tomorrow for the restock!
We ended this blissful evening with a glass of Malbec (because what better to pair with an empanada?) at La Barra across the street. Perfect Tuesday.
