Bryce: has yet to write about himself because he spends so much time on the computer for work — i don’t blame him! He is a kind hearted, mega amazing kitchen wizard and computer scientist. Born in upstate New York, raised in Iowa and collided with Anya on a Trifecta trip to the Lemont Quarry.
Anya was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia and came to the United States as a little girl with her parents. While in High School in Vermont, she stumbled upon the surgical field of ophthalmology and back in 1997 decided that she will become one in order to help patients with their sight all around the world. In her quest to become an international ophthalmologist, Anya studied at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and spent time volunteering in Nepal, India and Sicily. She completed a year of general surgery training as well as ophthalmology residency at Pitt also. After that, life took her to Stanford for Oculoplastic fellowship followed by a year
in Utah doing the Himalayan Cataract Project’s international teaching fellowship (in Asia, Africa and Oceania). After coming back from 7 months abroad, Anya came to Chicago and started working at Loyola and County Hospitals. Throughout all the training, she was always passionate about the outdoors and organizing adventures, and it was during one of these trips that she met Bryce.
